Is Advaita a ‘path’ or a philosophic exercise? ‘Enlightenment’ as an experience isn’t validated…so what is the object of the exercise?

Using Advaita as a self-defense: be wary here also. Advaita is not a ‘path’ but, in the form I can see, an intellectual debriefing self/cosmos that might but probably cannot lead to an ‘enlightenment’ experience (which you may not want anyway). This point is open to debate, to be sure…But the hindu substrate could hardly be less corrupt than the buddhist/neo-buddhist. Beware. The issue is bedeviled by artificial ‘enlighenment’ products produced to ensare ‘buddhas’ and create a higher despostism of buddhas. What is the real source of this?
